In Search of the Flying Walrus

 On February 28, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Warren Roll and his wife, Mollie, bought the 38', 13-ton ketch The Flying Walrus for $15,600 when returning from a long voyage through the South Pacific. It had been built in the late 1940's, by John Owen Wells in Vancouver, Canada and designed by Bill Garden... a personal friend of Warren's. The Walrus was a perfect match for Warren and his new bride.
